You can come with nothing and buy fabric and notions here with 15% discount. You can also bring your fabric and supplies.

What is the workshop address?

Please use 1129 Weaver Dairy Rd, Chapel Hill, NC 27514 to estimate your travel distance. This is a USPS location about two miles from my home studio. For privacy, this nearby address is shown on the public calendar.

After payment, you’ll receive a confirmation email with a PDF attachment containing the exact home studio address. The studio is in a beautiful neighborhood and there is spacious free parking space in front of the studio.

Do I need sewing experience?

No sewing experience is required for regular classes. The instructor will guide you step by step—from threading the sewing machine and sewing straight lines to completing an entire garment.

Open Studio Hours are best for those with some sewing or crafting experience who can work independently. You’ll have full access to all studio machines and tools, while the instructor will provide limited help as needed. Each paper pattern includes detailed instructions and a video tutorial, so you can enjoy uninterrupted creative time and complete projects at your own pace.

What can I make during Open Studio Hours?

The studio offers a wide range of tools and equipment. In addition to using sewing machines, sergers, and patterns to make garments, bags, and pouches, you can add gold foil lettering to treasured items, create spiral-bound notebooks, make bow hair accessories, and explore many other craft projects.

All machines and tools are free to use, and materials are available for purchase at 15% off.

What is the project portfolio I will receive after class?

At the end of each sewing class, you’ll receive a personalized project portfolio documenting the entire process, so you can recreate the project at home. It will also include a photo of your finished piece and space for your own notes and reflections.

What age can attend classes?

Our classes start for ages 13+. Unless discussed by instructor for events and private lessons.

Do I have to bring a sewing machine?

No. Sewing machine are provided. Please arrive to class 5 minutes prior.

What should I bring to class?

You may bring the fabric and notions, but arriving empty-handed is totally fine. Fabric and notions are available to purchase at 15% discount. Machines, sewing tools and paper patterns are provided.

What is refund policy?

Classes and open studio sessions are non-refundable, but you can reschedule for another available time at no additional cost (after booking, you will find the instructor’s phone number in the attachment to your confirmation email) and the instructor will help you select a new class time.

What if I miss my class or want to reschedule class?

If you miss a class or need to reschedule, please notify the instructor by email, phone, or text at least 24 hours before the class (after booking, you will find the instructor’s phone number in the attachment to your confirmation email). And the instructor will help you select a new class time at no cost.

What is Late policy?

To ensure the integrity of timed classes/ lessons, late policy is enforced. Arriving 15 minutes or later from class start time, the instructor has the right to refuse admission, and the student will be ineligible for a rescheduling.
